Valerie Mathias, a young inspirational entrepreneur, has been running her family's 25-year-old restaurant for a decade, serving patrons iconic French and coastal Indian cuisine and frequently combining the two to create new dishes.
In July of 1994, Chef Vincent Mathias and his wife Jessica formally inaugurated the restaurant, leaving a legacy in Pondicherry's small village. A rendezvous, as the name suggests, is a tranquil setting where people may sit and enjoy a tête-à-tête.. Rendezvous has earned a reputation for serving classic continental, seafood, and Mangalorean cuisine, to name a few. Chef Vincent and Jessica are ecstatic with Rendezvous' success.
Chef Vincent's wife and daughters (Vanessa and Valerie) continued his mission after his death in June 2010.
Rendezvous has been closed for renovations for almost a year. Rendezvous is one of those places that will never truly disappear.
Valerie reappeared a year and a half later, just in time for the start of Rendezvous 2.0. Rendezvous is back and better than ever, not only in terms of its new look, but also in terms of the food, wine, and scrumptious cocktails.
