NEP- a new face of Education
"Change is the end result of all true learning”. Action is the greatest aim of Education apart from Knowledge.
Higher education has gained acceleration and hastened its movement whether at rural or urban front. It is said that “the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who can’t read and write but those who can’t learn, unlearn and relearn". With the State and Central Government’s intervention, the leverage given to conduct online classes, overriding the traditional methods of teaching has opened a new arena to both Educationists and learners. It’s a milestone for the Education system itself for the change in the face of teaching- learning process.
Emphasizing on holistic multidisciplinary education for future nation’s stakeholders to create employment opportunities through a self-sustained skill-based model has become a necessity of a self-reliant society especially after the post pandemic time. Value based education with extended subjects to climate; culture etc. equating to Global citizenship education has been incorporated.

NEP aims at collaborative efforts in providing budding minds a learning opportunity and work support to families. A sweeping change though expected at higher education will have a tremendous impact on students, teachers and parents. The remodeling of India's education policy gives a free hand to students to choose and pursue their vested interests making the trip from campus to corporate both skillful and efficient. The new system defines it as 5+3+3+4 which means 3 years of pre-school and 12 years of school giving necessary freedom and space to learn rather than the rush. Nursery at 4years, Junior KG at 5 years, senior KG at 6 years, then grade 1-7. Allowing mother tongue, regional and national till middle school.
Preparatory school education will be from 2nd to 5th grade, 6th to 8th and secondary education from 9th and 10th grade, two years of Junior college-11th and 12th. Board exams only at grade 12. Implementing semester system from 9th to 12th.
Higher education would be under one roof except law and medical sciences and graded academics adopted.
NEP promises a holistic learning experience, digital learning and sports Integration, change in pedagogical structure and more focus on pre-primary and multidisciplinary courses. Also focusing skill based learning, multiple exits and common entrance test along with training for teachers. This change in fact will ease pressure and anxiety among students, helping them with life skills like decision making, building confidence, dealing with failures and developing a winning attitude, team spirit, choosing streams for better financial stability, logical thinking, and empathy and over all mental, emotional and social well-being.
Replacing a 34- year- old education policy has to be accepted with positive and good spirit!
